OAU Denies Recruitment Rumors
The management of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has dispelled rumors that the university is conducting a staff recruitment campaign.
The university disclosed that it is not currently hiring any employees.
A statement titled "BEWARE OF SCAMMERS:" made this clear. OAU Isn't Enrolling", delivered by the College representative, Abiodun Olanrewaju, on Sunday, and made accessible to our reporter.
It is said that Dr. Williams Abah engaged the general public on behalf of the university administration, promising to assist individuals with finding employment at the institution.
OAU said that the conversation wasn't just false; it was also devilish, malicious, and a complete scam.
"The University is unaware of or has no connection to any enigmatic Dr. Williams Abah. Hence, anything done or purportedly finished in the interest of the College or its Bad habit Chancellor by the alleged Dr. Williams Abah, with GSM number 0802 129 4368, has nothing to do with the College.
A portion of the statement read, "OAU, as an academic institution, does not engage in secret or clandestine employment, nor would its Vice-Chancellor or any other Principal Officers of the University ask an applicant for any monetary or material gratification."
The university also made it clear that its staff recruitment process always adheres to due process.
"Advertisements for open positions are placed in two well-read National Dailies and will be posted on the university's website. Additionally, please keep in mind that we do not employ a third party for our staff recruitment process," it continued.
It urged the general public, particularly those who were in desperate need of work, not to talk to anyone or any group.
It also warned that the university does not use social media to advertise its staff recruitment process.
"Any individual or gathering of people who executes, or has executed any business with him for the sake of the College proceeds notwithstanding copious advice to the contrary," it said.
